Itineraries

Day 1

MANAGUA -> LEÓN (- / - / D)

Arrive in Managua. You’ll meet your guide at Managua International airport and begin your Nicaraguan adventure with a private 2 hour transfer towards the beautiful colonial town of León. Visit León‘s highlights with your guide to learn about its history, architecture, culture, and people. Get briefed on your tour itinerary before sleeping off any unwanted jetlag while you enjoy a special welcome dinner. Optional Activity: Night Sea Turtle Tour.

Day 2

LEÓN -> ESTELÍ (B / L / D)

Stone Man & Tisey Nature Reserve. Ready to escape from the heat? Today you will head towards Northern highlands of Nicaragua starting with a wonderful walking tour through the private Natural Reserve of Don Alberto, one of our local heroes of the region.

Day 3

ESTELÍ -> JINOTEGA (B / L / D)

Cigars & Dantali Reserve. Visit a cigar factory and learn about the cigar-making process and its history in the region; Take a delicious lunch in an exclusive restaurant at the heart of Jinotega and then drive to la Bastilla eco-lodge, in Dantali Nature Reserve. Optional: La Bujona waterfall.

Day 4

JINOTEGA -> MATAGALPA (B / L / D)

Coffee Farm. Drive for a 3h ride to one of the most exclusive mountain hotels where you can perform various activities such as hiking trails, coffee production, visit one of the largest butterfly garden in Nicaragua, a Red-Eyed Tree Frog breeding, and much more.

Day 5

MATAGALPA (B / L / D)

Cloud Forest Hiking. After breakfast, you will go to one of the country‘s most important cloud forests: The Peñas Blancas Massif, the southern boundary of the famous biosphere reserve Bosawas. After this amazing hiking you will come back to the comfort of your eco-lodge to relax the rest of the day.

Day 6

MATAGALPA (B / L / D)

Cocoa Tour & Waterfalls. Follow the life of a Cocoa Bean from the tree to artisanal chocolate and end with chocolate tasting. Before leaving the cool mountains of Matagalpa, enjoy one the most beautiful waterfalls and follow the trail into the caves behind for a more intimate experience. Lastly, you will move to San Ramón in the afternoon.

Day 7

MATAGALPA -> MANAGUA (B / L / D)

San Ramón-Managua. In La Hermandad you will be able to get in touch with nature and rural life style. They will show you their ecological, sustainable and environmentally friendly production system. Further, visit the indigenous community of El Chile who are specialized in the production of textiles. Your last night will be in a first class hotel in Managua to rest your trip before to return to reality.

Day 8

MANAGUA -> AIRPORT (B / - / -)

Return home. This morning you will go to the airport to connect (unfortunately) with your flight home.
